The majority of our students meet the qualifications for the coveted President’s Academic Excellence Award or the President’s Academic Achievement Award. These are awarded at the end of sixth grade, eighth grade, and high school graduation. We have chosen to use the original highest standards that are rigorous: students must be in the top 15% on national achievement tests in reading or math, and must have maintained a 3.5 GPA or better for the previous two years.
This level of achievement positions our students for entry into the best secondary programs. Students are well prepared academically, socially, and emotionally for new challenges and most enroll in Honors and Advance Placement courses. Many receive scholarship funds based on their high achievement on entry exams. They enter high school as leaders; they are confident, motivated to achieve, and contribute to their communities. We are proud of their success; our students are tomorrow’s leaders.
